For nearly 200 years, Lawrence County, Indiana, the "Limestone Capital of the World", has provided Bedford Limestone and Oolitic Stone to build some of our nation’s principal buildings, including the Pentagon, the Empire State Building, and the National Cathedral. Now we're focused on building successful businesses, generating jobs, and providing a high standard of living. 

The mission of the Lawrence County Economic Growth Council is to collaboratively plan for and guide the economic development of the county; to facilitate the expansion and retention of existing business; to aggressively recruit new business; and to support the development of a quality of life that makes Lawrence County a superior place to live, work and run a business.
