Introduction to Local Jobs And Skills (ILJAS)
The FREE Introduction to Local Jobs And Skills (ILJAS) program was created in 2020 and has continued to be met with tremendous support from employers, the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s office, Community Corrections, and Probation. At the end of the program, each participant has a next step plan that may include obtaining a high school equivalency, employment, better employment, additional skills training, internships, or even college.

North Lawrence Career Center
Week 1: Introduction to Careers • Monday - Thursday • 4pm-8pm
• Obtain CPR/AED, First Aid, and Stop the Bleed Certifications
• Intro to Welding, Machining, or Construction
Week 2: Monday - Thursday • 4pm-8pm
• Intro to Welding, Machining, or Construction
Week 3: Monday - Thursday • 4pm-8pm
• Employability Skills
• Safety Training
• Intro to Welding, Machining, or Construction
• Graduation Celebration (Thursday at 4pm, class continues after celebration)
PARTICIPANT EXPECTATIONS:
• Must have transportation to and from class
• Able to arrive promptly to each session
• Upon completion of program, participant awarded a certificate and $250 stipend

Are you an adult in need of earning your high school diploma? Getting your HSE isn't as daunting as you might think. In fact, we're here to support and encourage you on the path to earning your high school equivalency diploma - FOR FREE! Work at your own pace either in-person or on-line. With nearly 100% of participants earning their diploma, our process WORKS! Take the 1st step today.
On-Line Classes (at your own pace)
If you are 16 years of age or older, left high school before graduating, and want the convenience of learning remotely, our on-line class option could be for you!

Orientation is held one (1) time per month
Orientation MUST be completed prior to attending class
Student MUST already be withdrawn from Public School to enroll
Student MUST provide High School Exit form IF under 18 years of age and Parental/Guardian paperwork MUST be signed
MUST provide Valid Drivers License OR State Issued ID AND Social Security #
