Strategy One
North Lawrence Career Center
Increasing the utilization of the North Lawrence Career Center by youth and adults in the region is the first strategy for the Workforce Coalition, and has remained the top priority. We developed a strategic plan in coordination with former Director, Brad Street, and former Superintendent, Dr. Ty Mungle.
Needs Assessment
One of the first initiatives undertaken by the Lawrence County Workforce Coalition was to work with the Bedford North Lawrence School System and ROI to do an assessment of the Bedford North Lawrence Career Center. Fleck Education worked with the school to develop a better understanding of where the career center is and what the future of career education appears to be. This review serves as a starting point for broad, collaborative, and continued conversations between employers, educators, and community members about how to best meet area industry demands while maximizing the preparation of all students for post-high school success. Strategic Plan
Based on the needs assessment completed in Spring 2018, the LCWC is fundraising and spearheading a strategic plan based on the needs defined with full support and approval by the NLCS Board of Trustees. Beginning in August 2019, a steering committee has been funded to direct the activities of the strategic planning group which will report their recommendations to the North Lawrence Career Center Director's Advisory Board. This planning process will again be facilitated by Fleck Education with support from Thomas P. Miller and Associates. A copy of the NLCC Strategic Plan can be found via the following link:
